Rerouting

I caught a large moth today.
It was sitting above a large picture frame in the living room, its blunt outline irregular even in my myopic vision.

It was probably drawn in by the light and the warmth--the prospect of comfort...only to find that it didn't belong here.

I didn't kill it because I knew it would be too messy; instead I trapped it and released it to the tepid air. Unharmed.

I figured that was the same kindness He would show me.
