Nail Art | Cotton Candy Jawbreakers

image

I feel like there should be different styles of nail art based on your technique or your aesthetic or whatever--just like what actual artists have.

My style would be called the "jawbreaker style" because when multiple colors are applied to a base in a random pattern, the overall effect is similar to the look of a jawbreaker candy ball. Maybe next time I'll do a white base with smaller stamping so it looks more literal, but for now I guess this is "jawbreaker impressionism".

With this design, I originally wanted just the pink and blue contrasted with the maroon and cobalt blue in more of a color blocking print, but I changed my mind when I decided to integrate the copper accents. While all that sounds somewhat artistic, I was actually inspired by absolutely nothing; I just thought the colors looked really pretty together.

  2. I am pretty much the worst with nails (I'm sporting some nice chipped nail polish right now), but this post inspires me to motivate myself to paint these nails tonight! thanks for the inspiration :)
