Honestly, I didn't think I could even use apples to do my fruit fry thing because they have such a supple texture and I wasn't sure how they would taste after being sautéed in butter, but these Gala slices were actually pretty legit. I think next time I'll do either a sweeter apple like the Golden Crisps or something more tart...I don't really have a choice since plums are now out of season.
