snow storm looks

...I guess I can bear the unnecessary comments and totally unwanted photos from random people for a little while longer...I just don't feel like wearing anything else when there's a foot of snow on the ground.

sub zero sushi run

That little thermostat behind me said it was about 15 degrees out...10 by the time I was heading back. Lovely.

teddy winter

...I feel like I haven't worn this coat in a while...and that I look like a stuffed animal.

dystopian mercenary looks

I think these boots look best head on...when I'm looking down at them I'm still like 'holy shit half my leg just got eaten by some hairy black monster'...it's such a struggle.

...and this jacket is still the best thing I've bought this year. I'm so happy I made that phone call.

...welp, I gotta go fight off renegades in the brave new world--later.

Goldilocks vs. Andre 3000

So they arrived and I tried them on, with great apprehension of course...
I already concluded they were something I wanted rather than needed and I was no longer sure how much I really wanted them even after Jourdan Dunn slayed all of us on the Moschino runway.

...I was so indecisive...I even filmed myself at the depths of my turmoil--it was such a struggle.

I'll be posting the footage shortly so you can see for yourself how they looked, but for now I can say when I slid my leg inside I immediately felt like this:

...for those who don't know, that's André 3000 in Outkast's 1998 hit "Rosa Parks" video when he donned these deliciously ghetto fabulous fur pants...it took kind of a moment to get these crappy screen shots by the way, but they are the perfect visual aid to describe my ambivalence about these boots.

...but I didn't want to go to the other extreme with the short fox fur ones; they are too flashy with the gold against the blonde fur. However, the thigh high version is too gaudy and overwhelming on the leg plus it was a little weird sitting down in them because I felt like a circus bear.

I've decided to order the ones in between; they're shorter, still super raver-chic and hopefully, they'll be just right.

I'm going there as soon as the snow falls...

These fluffy thigh highs by Moschino became number one on the want list this season after I figured I should go all the way to Sasquatch-ville if I'm doing the whole furry boot look.

...but for those looking for a more subdued version here's some other poofy picks from around the internet:

by Chloé, found on Barney's site. They actually came out before the Moschino ones and I had my eye on them for a while, but I prefer the black fur more.

...these are truly the more subdued version of my pick, they're about four inches shorter (found on Shopbop)

...and these are the adorable blonde fox fur version (Shopbop).

Phillip Lim makes a cute but rugged fur bootie (Net-a-porter and Shopbop)

Giuseppe Zanotti came up with this wild heeled version for the bougie ladies that don't plan on actually walking in the snow (Shopbop).

...and finally these ones by Pedro Garcia are reminiscent of Ugg's "fluff momma" boots from way back in the day; lowkey, I think I would have gone for them instead if I hadn't seen the Moschino ones first (Shopbop).

I'm not really sure when I started thinking of fur boots as cute and cuddly instead of mildly offensive, but I'm pretty committed to looking like a 24/7 go-go dancer this winter.

another 10 years

After that horrifically confusing event of losing my lanyard with my keys and bus pass (which I'd had since I started college 10 years ago) I decided I should upgrade to something with enough added value that I would avoid repeating such carelessness. I got this Moschino keychain on sale at Shopbop; it's functional, sturdy and adorable.

I'll never lose my keys again.
