so here's some things...

image
image
So this is what I wore on some day last week when I left my glorified bedroom also known as my apartment. I've been trying to wear my Margiela thigh highs in preparation from my newest Acne Studios ones to arrive...
image
...speaking of new, expensive purchases, this is me not giving a shit about that small pile of bills on that table...
image
...just kidding. I am very responsible...
image
...sometimes I even reward my responsibility with sweet stuff...
image
...or clothing stuff. These are some basics from American Apparel, good for layering underneath all the knitwear I'll be wearing...

...here's a shot of the new boots...taken from my bathroom, which I spent a lot of time in after the tub was clogged with crap I didn't put there because I've only been living here for two months and this building is almost 100 years old (legit).

I couldn't even take a shower for a night, which was just so fucking annoying--I mean, THIS IS AMERICA, WTF??? It took two bottles of Drano, a lot of plunging, bailing water and finally a fucking plumber who decided to flush some of what was in the drain down my toilette, which kind of pissed me off because if I get a clogged toilette...well, I guess I'll make that his problem, right?

All of this happened a day before my boots were supposed to arrive so the anxiety of the situation combined with the excitement of getting fabulous new shoes kept me up alllll day and allll night so I basically slept when the tub wasn't being dealt with and when I wasn't waiting for UPS to drop of the package. I legit tried on the boots as soon as I got the box open, but I was so tired I fell asleep with them still on my feet, dangling off my bed...it was kind of a mess.

MOVING ON,

image
...this is the second day I wore the boots outside. It was on a sushi/froyo Friday (that's a thing for me now) and I decided to take the opportunity to start breaking them in...
image
...I also tried a new frozen yogurt flavor; cookies 'n creme is going to be a new favorite.
image
...and finally, here's this shot of today's outfit. It was cold enough to almost freeze water so I know snow is around the corner. I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet...not without more fur.

Mismatchy

Top and bottom from U.O.--they actually are by two different brands and don't fully match; Doc Marten sandals; AA shawl.

Sooooooooo my living situation is once again, a situation.

I have to be honest (as usual, right?) the honeymoon is over and my eyes have already wandered elsewhere.

So far, I'm just annoyed with the lack of square footage--that photo literally captures about 75 percent of my entire living space (I don't even know if that pile of clothes will make it into any storage outside of a black bag). The kitchen is especially dismaying because even though its small size will make it easier to clean, my cooking activities will be limited.

Next week I have the opportunity to check out other available spaces in the area and I'm hoping I can sign a lease for more accommodating digs...

...but for now, it's cheap, it's directly in front of the bus stop making it super hard to be late for work and best of all, it's a major upgrade from my summer place (it fucking had bats--BATS--and large bugs I have yet to see here).

Other pros I should focus on include: I can comfortable open the windows; there's a lobby with a sometimes secured door (it's not computerized like the newer buildings); the appliances are old, but they work; the smoke alarm goes off when I'm cooking sometimes, but at least it's not every time I take a hot shower; and the central air is sometimes on when it really shouldn't be, but it's way better than needing a fan. Best of all, I am always only five minutes away from frozen yogurt and sushi.

I think I'll survive.

Skinny Freeze

VPL alpaca sweater; La Garçonne leggings; Rag & Bone leather lounge pants; Opening Ceremony slipons; A Detacher alpaca hood; Acne Studios Kita loafers and Merci leather jacket.

It's been a month and I'm still trying to make my tiny apartment a little more homey. All the furniture has arrived including a dresser so I can finally put my clothes away and quit wearing the same thing over and over because that's all I can find amongst the piles on the floor.

The slight drop in temperature has drawn me to the head to toe knitwear trend to keep me all cozy in the below 70 temps...yes, now anything below 70 is considered a chill to my boney body--I can't stand the thought of another winter like the frigid deathtrap last year. By then I'll probably have to wrap myself in nine layers of sheepskin, but for now some easy alpaca and cashmere wool layers over lightweight leather will have to do...epic levels of fanciness.

Items featured: Buffalo x Solestruck 1360-10 platforms; Opening Ceremony slip ons; Martiniano slippers; A Détacher hood; Hope shirt dress; Basic Range dress.

I'm still in Minnesota...been doing the vlogger thing and I will post pixs of my time here later. Until then, here's another photoset of my outfits from the past few weeks when I decided not to stay holed up in my now moved out of apartment. The last pix is what I wore to the airport; Marant sneakers make fabulous travel shoes and my Base Range dress is super comfy and TSA friendly.

That's all the #fblogger stuff I have for now...k, bye.
