2015 spring style round up

...the results of my attempt at being minimalist luxe--you can kind of see it given the neutral colors and the repetition of some of my favorite pieces including my Simone Rocha shearling bag, my Eugina Kim alpaca hat and so much Acne Studios I deserve a sponsorship.

Many of the items seen are not available anymore and I'm not a good enough fashion blogger to like, list suggestions all nice and neat like some of these other girls who have their shit together, but if you have any questions leave it in the comments and I'll do my best to pretend I know what I'm talking about.

Mormon dress update...

...so I continued my quest for my perfect Mormonized frock, which led me to yet another mall this time with stores I'd never heard of or been inside. Above is a dress I found at a store called J.Jill that sells very spring/summer ready linens and easy cottons. I will probably shop more at a place like this in about 20 years.

I liked the simple, functional style of the dress, it definitely checked some boxes for me--and with that shirt layered underneath don't I look like I'm heading to Bible study with my 56 nieces and nephews?

Mormon dresses are a very generic homemaker kind of thing so it figures only certain types of retailers have some very nice contenders. I browsed some other selections including this from the Gap and one from Banana Republic; I'm sure Old Navy is worth investigating too because they're in the same corporation.

The quest to modern modesty continues...

officially a thing

...so I haven't been awake enough to actually start looking for this now elusive spring/summer dress, like I woke up so early today (in the AM!) and I did some stuff and then I was going to leave to do more stuff that would have led to me at least looking at some things at the mall (haven't done that in a while), but I was like nah, NAP TIME. I woke up too late to be productive for the rest of the day. That's kind of my life in a nutshell.

Anyway, last year I saw this at UO...
...it's similar to the Marant one, which is why I was so drawn to the now sold out Ivah dress in the first place, it's like my subconscious coveting of this dress...? However, I think I left it behind because the buttons were kind of annoying; I wonder how Mormons deal with that...
...recently I was looking at this one, it's actually a pinafore style dress, super long, pockets and very third-wifey. It's definitely on the short list, but I really want to find something with a print or at least a lighter color.

...even the Jennerdashians are looking like members of an American polygamous sect these days, this dress is Mormonistic hotness.

I don't know if I would go with black, but they're both really selling it here and if winter white was a thing, then why not spring black? So many unanswered questions to ponder as I go right back to sleep.

Modest is Hottest

...so I was looking into getting a nice casual dress for spring and I figured I'd found it in this selection...

Ivah dress by Isabel Marant
...but unfortunately about 24 hours ago it sold out.

I not crying about it well maybe just a little bit, but I'm still super inspired by this dress style. It reminds me of those Orthodox Mormons like, the crazy ones from the Warren Jeffs squad: smock style, ankle length, deep, well pockets--sleeve length and print is optional (although longer sleeves are better as a lady's arms should only be seen by her husband, right?).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all trying to lampoon the polygamous lifestyle mainly because my family is Nigerian and that's actually a thing there (as it is in most of the world). In fact, I imagine I would make a pretty decent wife if I came in a little later in the arrangement...number three maybe?  So at least I wouldn't have as much pressure to birth a ton of kids.

I haven't yet seen any other selections that fit my criteria so the search continues; sister wife-chic for spring 2015.

....so there's the new sweater...and my long ass arms in the new sweater. I guess I have some stretching to do.

Because spring 2015 is like, basically here...

...I've been chasing the slouchy beige knitwear look:
via Tumblr/Pinterest

...because it was seen on Gigi Hidad who is friends with Kendall Jenner so she's basically an automatic style icon...but because I have super duper long arms, the slouchy part might be an issue...

How is it that you can see my finger tips? This sweater was designed with exaggerated sleeves so--HOW? (Vetements)

...I swear my arms are a good three inches longer than the models on the sites I shop despite them being around my same height...so I figured this selection would do...
...because I'm trying to create a beige trifecta...
The Theory one you already saw and the latest one by Organic by John Patrick

...but it might be a beige quadfecta (add it to your dictionary too, okay) because this:
Acne

...and because I failed the spending ban and I'm not even mad.
